Bug of the Week: Hackberry Butterfly

No cropping was needed to capture this hackberry butterfly (named for the fact its caterpillars feed on the foliage of hackberry trees.) It was willing to pose.

Did anyone spot the egg this queen butterfly had just laid on the milkweed vine?
