Meet A Scientist Monday: Advice from Biomedical Researchers

While looking around the Howard Hughes Medical Institute website, I came across a section called “Becoming A Scientist” in the Cool Science area. There are videos of eleven prominent biomedical researchers talking about what they think it takes to become a scientist. As you might expect, the answers are a diverse as the scientists themselves. I particularly like the advice that anyone can become a scientist, as long as they aren’t afraid to give it a try.

Why was I poking around the site? Looking for the Free Science DVD’s, of course. I ended up downloading the Seeing, Hearing and Smelling the World” pdf instead.
Hope you find something useful as well.

Thanks. I’m trying to get out information that would have been very valuable to me when I was investigating careers, as well as to encourage future scientists.
