Mystery seed is back for number 170!

This mystery seed was hard to extract from the fruit that had dried around it.

Perhaps you can recognize the dried fruit instead.

Please let us know if you have an idea what the plant might be.

Our mystery seeds are from plants found throughout North America.

Although the seeds are somewhat heart shaped, they are not loved by farmers.

Any ideas what plant these seeds are from?

Our mystery seeds today are hard to spot.

When they are all mixed up with the other flower parts in the seed heads, it is hard to tell the seeds from the debris. They are beige and not very distinct.
