Not much to distinguish these seeds.

Hint:  the seeds color (black) is part of the plant’s name.

Do you recognize what plant these seeds are from? If you choose to, please leave a comment with your ideas.

Mystery Seed answers and new Mystery Seeds are posted on Tuesdays.

Edit:  The answer is now posted.

I’m gonna guess black-eyed susans, but they look too big to be a flower seed. You need a picture with a ruler or some way to gauge their size. Bill guesses Black Locust.

The seeds aren’t that big, just close.

You know, I have been trying to figure out how to add a way to gauge size for a long time. Unfortunately, using a macro lens means a very narrow depth of field, which makes focusing on more than a few close-together objects difficult. Also, having a ruler or coin in the image often wrecks the composition.

All that said, your comment has given me an idea for adding scale and I will try it next week. Thank you!
